“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me,” John 14:6
The Bible is not just a book; it is a living message from God that speaks to us in a personal and powerful way.
In the Philippines, every January, the celebration of National Bible Month is a significant time for every Christian believer to commemorate the Bible's power to transform lives, encourage us to live in God's will, and lead us to understand His love and grace better.
“The Word leads to the Way, the Truth and the Life”, the theme for National Bible Month for the year 2023 reminds us. Jesus is the answer to everything you are looking for. He grants us serenity despite being surrounded by the noise of temptations, sin, and sorrow in our world.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105. It is a reminder of how the Bible has been a source of hope, wisdom, and guidance for those who seek it throughout their spiritual journey.
As Christians, we believe that Jesus and the Bible are the cornerstone of our faith and the key to our salvation. The Bible has the ability to shape our thoughts, our attitudes, and our beliefs, and it can help us make sense of the world around us.
In line with the celebration of National Bible Month, Bulacan Ecumenical School has launched different activities that promote the importance of the Bible in our lives. This included daily Bible character guessing activities as well as conducting Bible Study after school hours, led by students in their respective sections and batches.
At every flag ceremony in the month of January, BESians sang scripture songs shared by our Spiritual Adviser, Ms. Emily Albania. This includes 1 John 4:7-8, John 15:7, and Matthew 6:33.
These songs brought joy, peace, and understanding of the scriptures.
If we abide by God and the purpose that He gave us, it helps us to create a spiritual foundation of our faith in Him. Those who trust in Him bear the fruits of the Spirit and His powerful promises—eternal life, hope, forgiveness, and grace.
The core purpose of the Bible is to unify Christians and to live in solidarity, integrity, stewardship, and value other people with spiritual discipline with those who believe in Jesus. We are encouraged to cherish a copy of the Holy Bible in our homes and, more significantly, to keep God as the center of our lives in our hearts.
If we want to see real growth and lasting change in our lives as a people and a country, we need to follow the Word's commands and observe its teachings. The world desperately needs God's Word—the Bible! Let us embrace this chance to develop our faith, share the Bible's message with others, and achieve Christian formation and transformation.
